Bentley chairman and CEO Wolfgang Schreiber recently confirmed that the new SUV model will be available in 2016.
This will be the company’s fourth model in their range along with the Mulsanne, the Flying Spur and the Continental GT.
Not a great deal is known at this time about the vehicles specification, although it is expected to be powered by a V-8 twin-turbocharged engine and will also be available as a hybrid model with a plug-in system.
Bentley has described the car as “Designed to be the most powerful and exquisitely crafted SUV on the road, the new Bentley will change the way the world looks at cars of this kind.”
The new model SUV will be built at the company headquarters at Crewe in the UK with Bentley set to invest over £800 million in the design and production of the new marque.
Part of that budget will go to finance the 400 extra workers Bentley will take on to help with its ambitious expansion plans. The dealer network is also being overhauled and is expected to create over 600 new jobs.
Bentley has enjoyed strong sales figures over the last 4 years selling over 10,000 cars last year alone. Their brand has been particularly well received in America, Germany and the UK.
The new model will be available in 2016 and prices are expected to start at around £120,000.
