The London Eye Champagne Experience
The London Eye Champagne Experience

A recent report states that London is now the home of highest number of CEO millionaires, with about 300,000 London residents in that fit within that wealth category. This surpasses other cities such as Los Angeles, New York and Singapore. The highest proportion of these CEO millionaires work in the tech sector.

For the rest of the world almost half of worlds CEO millionaires are in the United States with San Francisco’s high tech community millionaires coming in second behind London and Wall Street CEO’s placing New York in third place.

So for London millionaires where are the best new landmark residential towers to live and enjoy the capital?

The Nova Building in the SW1 area of Belgravia and Westminster has completed phase one, a 727,000 sq. ft. tower in 2016 and gives residents the opportunity to enjoy Michelin star restaurants, upscale shopping and theatres. There is 480,000 sq. ft. of office space along with the 170 luxury apartments. The building also features 24-hour concierge along with a resident’s private lounge.

Because of its close proximity to Victoria Station, transport to the rest of the city adds to the appeal of this location. In one direction residents can stroll over to Buckingham Palace or in another to Westminster Abbey.

My reports that units available include a 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom with 977 sq. ft. of space priced at £2,250,000 and a 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom 602 sq.ft.unit going for £1,050,000.

The area is expecting more residential developments with an additional 72 apartments being constructed by property developer Northacre in a Grade II-listed property opposite Buckingham Palace and the Queens Gallery.

This new development at No. 1 Palace Street, St. James’s Park is designed by Squire and Partners and will feature concierge, leisure facilities and restaurants along with an all new restoration of the building with Italian, French Renaissance, Beaux Arts and Queen Ann style facades. The building development is expected to be completed by 2019.

Also nearby with expected completion by 2021 is The Broadway Westminster SW1. This triangular designed property will feature six residential buildings from 14 to 20 storeys with 272 apartments designed again by Squire and Partners. The location will have a new street with retail outlets, office space, 25 metre swimming pool and spa facilities.

The One Blackfriars In Southbank and in what many consider is the cultural heart of London is, The One Blackfriars. Designed by award-winning Ian Simpson Architects. The property features 274 residential apartments over 50 storeys. Residents can choose from 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes, with interior design by Tara Bernard and Partners. Local attractions include Tate Modern, National Theatre and Shakespeare’s Globe. Transport includes Blackfriars tube station with direct routes to Gatwick and Luton airports. Also nearby is the Southwark tube station which makes for easy transit to Canary Wharf and Bond Street.

Amenities include 24-hour concierge by Harrods Estate, Executive Lounge on the 32nd floor, Yoga terrace, cinema room, gymnasium and wine cellar.

CBRE has listings for residences at One Blackfriars with a 562 sq. ft. Studio for £1,150,000 and a 2 bedroom 959 sq. ft. unit with an asking price of £2,330,000. A larger 2 bedroom residence is available for £2,880,000 with 1407 sq. ft. of space. A 3 bedroom unit with 1803 sq. ft. is asking for £4,640,000.

One area of London that has been the centre for new property development is Shoreditch. One new development is the 37-storey tower, The Stage. This property by Galliard Homes features 412 luxury apartments, 400,000 sq. ft. of office space, retail and leisure space. It’s described in its brochure as: ‘A high profile mixed use scheme with retail, commercial and dedicated performing arts and heritage space.’

Unit prices vary but some listings start at £685,000 for a 418 sq. ft. Studio Suite, a 540 sq. ft. one bedroom at £812,000 and a three bedroom 1493 sq. ft. apartment unit for £2,570,000.

A majority of the upper level apartments have balconies, terraces and panoramic views of the London skyline. The area is referred to as Tech City because of the numerous well known and new tech startup businesses in the area. Close by is the Liverpool Street rail station and the headquarters for Amazon.

Living in Shoreditch is described as:

‘Shoreditch is a lifestyle that both leads the way and sets the pace in cultural verve. Its streets are now as much about celebrity clientele as they are the satirical works of Banksy, Ben Eine or Stik.’

If any of these do not strike your interest there are plenty more high-rise luxury apartments on the development front throughout London.
